Major financial services firm seeks Sr. Financial Model Review Analyst VP/ Financial Model Review Analyst AVP in Columbus, Ohio offices.
The validation team is expected to leverage its knowledge of business processes, statistical theory, and financial practices to foster the implementation of modeling best practices and ensure they are applied consistently throughout the consumer lines of business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform independent reviews of financial models such as asset and liability valuation models including those used to value mortgage servicing rights and those used to value assets under FAS 107, as well as those used by Treasury to measure interest rate and liquidity risk (asset liability management models). This includes identifying flaws in their development and configuration, reviewing model methodologies, data inputs, and key assumptions, assessing the risks posed to the business from misconfigured models, unsupported methodologies, or insufficient and incomplete data or assumptions, documenting the review process, and communicating the results to management, model owners, and model development teams.
Monitor the performance of existing finance models used by the bank by comparing model output to output from similar models and actual business performance.
Assist with the design, development, documentation, and implementation of model review processes.
Interact with the Risk Model Infrastructure team to design enhancements to model monitoring tools and other technology infrastructure used to support validation work.
For the Sr. Financial Model Review Analysis, will mentor junior staff in the validation of consumer finance models.
Reports to Head of Model Review, part of the Corporate Risk area of consumer lending businesses.
Minimum Requirements:
Post-graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in finance, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, or similar quantitative field. Master'::::s degree (MBA or Master'::::s in Finance) may be sufficient given appropriate experience. CFA designation is also preferred but not required. Knowledge of statistical models and methods is also useful as many financial models also have statistical components.
Minimum of three years experience in the development and/or validation of finance models.
Proven ability to communicate the results of complex analyses to senior managers.
